Secure Web Gateway
Cloudflare Gateway is a Secure Web Gateway (SWG) that filters DNS and HTTP traffic to protect users against malware, phishing, ransomware, and unwanted content. It runs on the Cloudflare edge, with no need for on-prem appliances or traffic backhauling.
Imagine a water filter for your internet. All the water (traffic) passes through the filter before reaching the tap (user). The filter removes impurities (malware), bacteria (phishing), and residue (unwanted content). Only clean water gets through.
